About the program

What is the NBLK Summer Fellowship?

A paid summer fellowship for STEM students and recent graduates. You work side by side with experienced mentors on real data and backend systems that real businesses use.

When does it run?

From mid-June to mid-August 2027, with onboarding before the start. Exact dates are in your offer letter.

Is it paid?

Yes. Every fellow is paid. Your rate is in your offer letter.

Where is it?

There are two cohorts working in parallel: one in the United States and one in the United Kingdom. 2027 is our first year in the UK.

How big is each cohort?

Small, on purpose, so every fellow gets real time with mentors.

How much time does it take?

It is one fast-paced summer that needs your full commitment. Plan your summer around it.

How will I be reviewed?

Every week, with a performance review and direct feedback, so you always know where you stand.

Is there work after the fellowship?

Some fellows may be offered further work with NBLK or partners afterward. It is not guaranteed.

Is NBLK a nonprofit?

No. NBLK is a company and funds the fellowship itself, with help from sponsors and partners.

Eligibility

Who can apply?

Current students and recent graduates in a STEM field, living in the US or the UK, aged 18 or over, who can commit for the whole summer.

My field isn't on the list. Can I still apply?

Yes. Choose "Other" and tell us your field. We look for creative, logical problem solvers with strong technical skills, whatever the field.

Do I need work authorization to apply?

Not in hand, but it should be in process. It must be confirmed by June 1, 2027.

What if my authorization isn't confirmed by June 1, 2027?

We'll talk with you first. Because places are limited and paid, we may need to offer your place to another applicant. Other arrangements or opportunities may be possible.

Does the program support CPT and OPT?

Yes. We provide the offer letter and role details your school needs for CPT. For OPT, you need your EAD card, valid for the program dates. NBLK participates in E-Verify, which STEM OPT employers must do.

Does NBLK sponsor visas?

No. NBLK does not sponsor work visas for the fellowship.

I'm on a UK Student visa. Can I take part?

Usually yes, if the program dates fall entirely within your university's official vacation, because the fellowship is full time. Your university can confirm your vacation dates.

Why do you ask about work authorization?

So that everyone starts on time. In past years, unconfirmed paperwork delayed the program for everyone. We check early so we can help early.

Applying

What do I need to apply?

Your resume and a cover letter, both as PDF files (4 MB maximum each), plus about 30 minutes for the written answers.

Can I save and finish later?

Yes. Sign back in with your email and a new six-digit code. You can edit until you submit or the deadline passes.

Can I change my application after I submit?

No. Once you submit, it is locked. Check everything before you submit.

When is the deadline?

January 16, 2027 at 11:59 PM New York time. Unfinished applications are not reviewed.

My code didn't arrive. What do I do?

Check your spam or junk folder. Codes work for 10 minutes. You can request a new one, up to five an hour.

Can I apply to both cohorts?

No. Apply to the cohort for the country where you live and are authorized to work.

Will I hear back if I'm not selected?

Yes. Everyone who submits an application will hear from us.

Do you share my data?

We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own use.We use service providers to host the site, store data and send emails on our behalf. They may only use your data as we instruct.
