These terms explain how the NBLK Summer Fellowship™ works. By submitting an application, you confirm you have read them. If you are selected, your offer letter and any agreements you sign will set out the full terms, and those documents take priority.
1. The program
- What it is: a paid summer fellowship for STEM students and recent graduates, built on mentorship and real work.
- Dates: mid-June to mid-August 2027. Exact dates are in your offer letter.
- Before the start: selected fellows take part in onboarding and orientation activities before the program begins. These are scheduled ahead of time with notice.
- After the program: some fellows may be offered further work with NBLK or partners afterward. This is not guaranteed.
- Teams: separate cohorts in the United States and the United Kingdom, working in parallel. 2027 is the first year of the UK cohort.
- Cohort size: small, by design.
2. What we expect
- Full commitment: this is one fast-paced summer, and it needs your full attention for the whole program.
- Weekly performance reviews: every fellow gets a review and direct feedback every week.
- Curriculum: built around your field of study, with real backend and data work.
- Professional conduct: respect for mentors, teammates, partners and clients at all times.
- Confidentiality: fellows sign a confidentiality agreement and keep client and NBLK information private, during and after the program.
- Ownership of work: work created during the fellowship belongs to NBLK or its clients, as your agreements set out. You may describe your role in general terms on your resume and LinkedIn, but you may not claim work or titles you did not have.
3. Pay
The fellowship is paid. Your pay rate, schedule and payment method are in your offer letter.
4. Selection
- We review every complete application submitted by January 16, 2027, 11:59 PM New York time.
- We invite selected applicants to interviews in early 2027.
- Final-round applicants may be asked to complete a skills survey.
- Selection decisions are final. We may not be able to give individual feedback to everyone.
5. Offers depend on eligibility
- Every offer depends on confirmed work authorization for the full program dates, in the country of your cohort.
- Confirmed paperwork is due by June 1, 2027.
- We check eligibility early so that everyone can start on time. If you need guidance, tell us as early as possible. We will talk with you about your options.
- If your authorization is not confirmed by June 1, 2027, we may offer your place to another applicant. Because this is a paid fellowship with limited places, we must keep the opportunity open for others. We will talk with you first, and other arrangements or opportunities may be possible.
- If any information in your application turns out to be false or misleading, including about work authorization, we may withdraw an offer or end your participation.
6. The internship pool (optional)
If you opt in, we build an anonymous profile, with no name, contact details or resume, and share it with partner organizations to find internships and other opportunities. We share who you are only after you agree to a specific introduction. Joining is optional, never affects your fellowship application, and you can leave at any time.
7. No guarantee of employment
Applying, interviewing or joining the internship pool does not guarantee an offer, a placement or continued work. In the US, participation is at-will unless your offer letter says otherwise.
8. Sponsors and partners
Sponsorships support a program run by NBLK LLC. NBLK is not a nonprofit, so sponsorships are not charitable donations.
9. Changes
We may update these terms before offers are made, and will change the date above. Your offer letter and signed agreements set the final terms for selected fellows.
